OST Vol.1: five tracks, two versions each

The soundtrack arrives on New Year's Eve. Vocals for cinematics, instrumentals for gameplay, so the lyrics never fight the terminal.

Written after the fact, from the commit history and the design logs.

The soundtrack closed out the year. OST Vol.1 is five tracks:

  1. Wake up… — 4:05
  2. Run the protocol — 5:03
  3. Shadow packet — 3:56
  4. Systems primed — 4:35
  5. Corporate overlord — 3:07

The rule was set the same day: vocal versions for cinematics, instrumentals for gameplay. Lyrics compete with terminal text, and you hear gameplay loops often enough to grow to hate a chorus. The instrumentals were mixed down from the stems, which landed in the project today.

The tracks were made with Suno, and the stems are how we keep that honest: every track carries its generation tag, and the rights question (which plan was active when each track was generated) is tracked in the rights inventory, not hand-waved.

Nine months later, track three became the intro film’s soundtrack. The montage near the end of the film is cut on its 80.2 BPM grid. You can hear the whole album on the Dr1ftS0und page, the way it works in the game: as tapes.
